My Beloved Warrior

This is the true story of my beloved little warrior
Of a cat whose love had no barrier
Whose heart was filled with love, loyalty, and compassion
And could lighten your mood in any old fashion
From the first time I saw him, in that white carpeted room
The first thing I noticed was a white tiny plume
Oh, and how tiny he was!
He was my baby, from the first time I held him
And he will always be my baby, till the day I join him
As we drove back to the house, with him in a small cardboard box
He started yowling and clawing like a fox
I looked at my dad, and smiled, and thought,
This is quite a feisty one they caught!
And then as we all made it back home
I looked back and told my new kitty
“We’re here now, don’t worry”
He was home, and it’s like I can imagine him now
Free as a bird, running through the sunlit clouds
His spirit free, his love never forgotten
With eyes the color of the brightest hue
And whose expression was as wild as a tiger in a zoo
Who knew that after first being a small little ball of fluff?
That he’d grow into a strong, handsome cat so bold and tough
Let me tell you something, this cat was special in so many ways
He was clever, humorous, and brave
However despite his ferocious ways
With people, he was gentle and knew best when to obey
In fact, I swear he was part dog
He would follow you whenever you went out for a jog
And when you called for him, desiring his attention
He never lacked in giving you that satisfaction
He was quite a character, if you know what I mean
And despite spending his time outdoors, his coat was constantly clean
He was very playful, yet he knew when to stop
And if not, you could always remind him with a little head bop
Not only was he all of this
But he was much more; I could give you a list
Of a thousand qualities, no other cat could possess
Yes, I know, this cat was truly blessed
His personality was one that was especially unique
In a pet, it’s his kind of love that you should seek
Forever will I cherish him and his most beloved behavior
Take care my baby, my angel...
My Savior

P.S: I think this poem just about wraps everything up about Toby, and how such a special animal he was. He will always be in my heart, till the day I die. No matter how many animals I have, he will always hold a special place in my heart. No other pet has touched my heart the way he has. I love you Toby, always and forever!
