Cole was my very best friend. He seemed magical. He was born in my bedroom closet and was the only kitten to make in the litter. He was special from the beginning.

One day we had a bad gas leak while we were sleeping and Cole bit me in the ear until I woke up. He saved my family’s lives that day.

When his mother had her next litter she wouldn’t take care of one of the kittens so I bottle fed it and Cole would lay beside it and keep it warm just like a mother cat would. The kitten made it and is a big boy now but it was only with the help of Cole.

We spent so much time together. I talked to him and if I didn’t feel well he’d lay beside me. When I went back to college he sat at the top of my book while I studied. He knew what Eskimo kisses were and loved giving them.

He was so beautiful. He had plush blue/gray fur and large round amber eyes. Sometimes when I see the moon it reminds me of his eyes that seemed to glow.

He got sick so slowly that no one seemed to notice. He developed terrible allergies and eventually kidney failure. The last day he gave me a hug with his paws on my shoulder as he knew and sniffed his younger brother on the nose. I still can feel his little hug sometimes.

I love him so much and he will always be my best friend.
