In January of 2000, we added April to our family. She was a rescue animal from the Humane Society and one night we went to the pet store to take "a look" at the animals that were available for adoption. There she was! We knew immediately that she was special, she was sitting upright in her cage looking at us, and as we held her, we felt an immediate bond. She was a tabby, with pretty green eyes, lovely tabby markings and snow white fur on her face and stomach.
April was such a lovely affectionate cat, always waiting by the door for us to come home after work, staying with us while we were sick in bed, sitting on a chair watching us eat dinner, enjoying a movie on the couch or bed, and enjoying the sunshine and flowers on the balcony. She loved toy mouses, playing "snakie", and enjoying her tuna treats.
Watching your sickness take over your life, has been truly heartbreaking for us. You were too young, at 8 years old, to go. But dreaded cancer, the horrible disease, took over and it was much too fast for the doctors to fix. We needed to let you go and have peace, with no suffering. The last few hours at the hospital with you are etched in our minds forever, you were brave until the end.
April, you are such a wonderful sweet cat that we will never forget. You brought us such joy and fun, and we miss you terribly .....
Love Lori & Melissa....
