Maddy was brought to me on the day she was born. The littlest kitty I'd ever seen. Beautiful like her mother B.B., she grew to be an elegant lady, who always reminded me of a far off queen. Her beautiful smoky grey hair was always silky and soft, but it was her green eyes that mesmerized me. The most beautiful green I'd ever seen. I feel so lucky to have had her for almost 20 years, I just wish I could have been with her these last few weeks. She remained ever so tiny and graceful through her years, and just to think of the sounds of her little purrs and meows makes my heart break. She was also the caregiver to my other pets, and upon my dog Ivy's death, Maddy began to lose her will to live. She made it 19 more weeks exactly, but I know she longed to be with her friend Ivy again. I am so glad to know that they are together again. Maddy you were so wonderful, beautiful and I love you so very very much. Thank you for being the longest pet I have ever had, for always being my friend. Your love and beauty will remain in my heart forever. I will always miss you. All my love always and forever.

Personal Notes

Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way you always used. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight. All is well, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. Condolences from Ireland.

Don't think of her as gone away
Her journey's just begun
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one
Just think of her as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years
Think how she must be wishing
That we could know, today
Now nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
And she is loved so very much.

Please accept my sympathies for the loss of Maddy. She sounds like she may have looked a bit like Chester. It's interesting to try to interpret what goes through our pets' minds. We had two outside cats when I was growing up. Both lived to be quite old. But shortly after one died, the other disappeared. I can only assume their bond took them both into the next plane. I think human vanity too often discounts the feelings of other species. But I think their emotions are as valid as our own. I'm sure Maddy had a wonderful as well as long life with you.
