Musetta was a pirate girl...or so she appeared. In character, she was Musetta from La Boheme's "Quando M'en Vo" aria. Everyone thought her beautiful but she was capricious, petulant, and imperious. She did not cuddle, but allowed us (the staff) to love on her-- up the growl point. She was born in a barn in the county and Elaine Jones tried for weeks to find a home for her. Finally, on a Sunday morning, in exasperation, Elaine brought her to our house and we were smitten. A small furball with enormous bright eyes. With two other cats, she did not have a lot of space to come to her own, but the last year, without menacing brother G. Thanks, she bloomed. We will miss her and are very sad. What will we do with the time it took to serve her- turning water on in her favorite sink, giving treats for appropriate scratching upon her post, playing ping-pong?

Brokenhearted, Matt and Sharon (Matt's note follows.)

Personal Notes

Musetta was the beauty queen of the household. She was a genetic wonder! I told her God must have fun when he painted her, as she had a faint dab of white on her tail (as if she dipped her tail in the paint pot), a black patch over her eye and a white stripe down the side of her pink nose. She had big white paws that looked like white sneakers, and black "leggings." She wasn't cuddly, she could be grumpy, but she enjoyed being petted and sweet-talked. . . we'll miss her very much. Bye, Musie.

Death is nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way you always used. Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight. All is well, nothing is lost. One brief moment and all will be as it was before. Condolences from Ireland.
