Cassie Jane, a Samoyed, was my "once in a lifetime dog." She came to our house as a fuzzy white playful ball of fur and became my best girl friend in a little bit of no time. Smart as a whip, I often accused her of being able to talk and just deciding not to. She'd look at me with that gleam in her eye and give me her famous "Samoyed smile." Her time on earth was way too short, but I still talk to her every day and have a picture of her on the visor of my truck. I tell her she's my guardian angel dog while driving, and I KNOW she can hear me. I was with her at the vet's office until she took her last breath, whispering in her ear about what a dog she was and what times we had. While her physical body is gone, she will remain forever alive in my heart - it's a place I visit often. She also inspired me to write a book about our experiences and what I think the Rainbow Bridge is like. Actually, I think SHE is the one who wrote the book - I was just the conduit.
