Deanna came to us as a stray. My mother would feed her and her kittens during the freezing months. She was a good mother, always letting her kids eat before her, even if she went hungry. All that mattered to her were the kittens and eventually, the people she loved.
She was very shy when we first brought her in…especially since there were 3 feline males, 1 feline female, and 1 male K9 in the house. After several months, she warmed up and became a very loving daughter to us, and sister to her brothers and sister. She also welcomed another feline brother, and K9 sister.
When our first daughter Rajah passed away earlier this year, she was there comforting both of us. In the two months between Rajah’s passing and hers, she became even more loving by letting us hold her more, or sitting with us while we watched TV, laying with us while we slept, etc.
We miss her so much, especially the way she would “talk” to us. We could hold a conversation with her and she would just meow away, happy as can be. She also wasn’t shy about letting us know if she wanted something, especially her “Milky” in the morning. She would just talk and talk, until you gave in and put a bowl of milk down for her. Her soft long fir and loud purr is another thing we loved about her. Her sudden passing due to heart failure shocked us all.
The house isn’t the same without her. She was an elegant lady, always prim and proper. Mommy and Daddy miss her greatly. But at least she isn’t over the rainbow bridge alone. Her and her sister Rajah are playing together, waiting patiently until her brothers and sisters, and eventually her mommy and daddy, cross the bridge to be with her.
Mommy and daddy love sweetheart. Before you know it you will be in our arms again, purring and talking, and we will never let you go.
