Rosie came to us from the Midlands Golden Rescue out of Columbia SC in Feb 1999. Rescue dogs are truly special, somehow knowing they've been given a second chance. Rosie never dissappointed in that. We were looking for a good family dog that liked to play, and she was the perfect match! Rosie's (nicknamed Rosie Tosie) loved to fetch- her favorites being tennis balls, pinecones and frisbees. She never took her eye off the ball, and if you ignored her, she would place the ball strategically to get your attention - on your lap, in the hole you were digging, or in front of the lawn mower. Other favorites were her daily walks which only counted if "Mom" took her. A special treat was to go to Hitchcock Woods where she could run and swim in the stream and pond. This was especially fun with her dog cousins Meagan and Darby from Tennessee.
Rosie never met a stranger and loved everyone she met(except cats). All visitors to the house were there only to visit with her. She would promptly run and find a ball or toy for her newest friend.
Rosie was truly a gentle, sweet soul. She always had a smile on her face and could "talk" through her expressions. She loved her morning breakfast pets with Dad, and special treats in her bowl from Mike. Eric always shared his popcorn with her and let her sleep in his room. She was always happiest when the whole family was home.
Rosie was brave to the end. Even though she bacame very sick with cancer shortly before Christmas, she rallied to enjoy the holiday and even make a farewell tour to Pennsylvania through New Year's.
We had 9 wonderful years with her, and she will always be missed,
We love you Rosie!!!

Personal Notes

Rosie,
You will always have a special place in my heart. I hope you are busy chasing tennis balls and going for long walks.
I miss your sweet face.

Rosie taught me about grace. She loved everyone, no matter if they deserved it or not. I don't know how anyone could have neglected her. But mostly, she loved us. She wouldn't go to sleep until everyone was home. She didn't like it when anyone was gone. She was happiest when she had lots of people around her but always wanted to be with her family.

Rosie would have liked to have been a lap dog. She loved to sit next to us on the floor so we could pet her and pet her. She liked being petted after she ate her breakfast, while I was eating mine. And if we didn't pet her enough, she would rub against us and poke our hands with her nose.
I miss Rosie today and will miss her forever.

Rosie was, indeed, a rose! She does have a smile on her face! Take heart in all the years of love you gave her. We lost our Cobie 12/3/07 also from cancer and it does break your heart. I know there would never be a time when we would be ready to let them go but at least now they can be free of pain and frailty and wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge. God bless!

Rosie, you are now at peace at the Rainbow Bridge. You were greeted by the rescues that went before you. They will keep you company until your "special people" will come to be with you again. You were truely much loved. I don't think I could have found a better forever home for you and I am honored that I was able to do this.

I am so very happy that you were much loved and that I could be a part of making that happen. You were a special girl! Thank you Dan and Nancy for loving her so much and being there for her. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Many Golden hugs,

Rosie, you will be missed by your cousins Meagan and Darby--who loved fetching pine cones with you( and anything else) and swimming in Hancock Woods.

My best Rosie memory is when I was staying at the house with her right after I had some minor surgery. I was in a lot of pain the first day and spent it laying on the couch. Rosie laid down on the floor next to me and kept me company. She'd lick my hand or lay her nose on my lap and look at me with those big sympathetic eyes. She was the epitome of doggieness. I miss you, Rosie McGee!
