Logan was a handsome border collie/beagle mix, whom we had the privilage of adopting from a pet foster home. Logan was the protector of our family and my walking buddy. I always felt safe walking anywhere with Logan. I knew he wouldn't let any harm come to me! He LOVED playing with tennis balls, and we would all play with him in the back field. We took long walks in the woods. He was a good dog and always listened well in the woods so I was able to take his leash off and let him run. He had us all laughing a lot when we would sometimes catch him in the middle of the night sleeping on the couch on his back with his legs straight up in the air! He knew he wasn't allowed, and he occassionally snuck there at night. We never made him get down. He pretended to sleep when we spotted him, and we pretended we didn't see him there. His favorite spot for bed was "under" our bed. He was too big, but he would get two paws and his head under and think that no one could see him! He also would catch a nap on our bed in the afternoon!
Logan was quite the celebrity with the neighbor kids. He loved the attention! He will be sadly missed by his two nana's as well. He would get so excited when they came over!
Logan was hit by a car (that never even stopped!) and died 6 hours later. I will miss my walking buddy, my companion and my friend, and I know my husband and two boys will miss him dearly as well. He is going to be buried in our back yard by Rebel, our beautiful white german shepherd who died at the young age of 10 due to illness. I find some comfort in knowing they are together at the Rainbow Bridge, sharing stories of their life with our family.
