Bandade was a very special girl and is loved very much. Ban had a very hard start in life with two different abusive homes until her perfect mommy came along and actually rescued her! Ban never wanted for anything after that - she had lots of love from lots of people family and then she also had her puppy sisters. Band has now gone to play with one of her oldest sisters, Cocoa and her mommy's other baby JumpShot. (Ban didn't get to meet her but they'll know each other when they meet at the Rainbow Bridge). Her younger sisters, Allie and M.E., are already missing her. SOME THINGS BANDADE LOVED: her mommy was #1 rides in the car (front seat!) trips to McDonalds Squirrels (she never caught one but loved the thought of it) sleeping on the bed going for walks - anywhere parks ducks treats - treats and more treats! THINGS SHE DIDN'T LIKE SO MUCH: Baths! Sweaters (she thought she couldn't walk in them :o) Being left outside for too long her pills (she'd eat all around them and leave them laying in the bowl - or just spit them out) the vet or the groomers (even though she had a wonderful vet for many years that loved her too) Not getting to share in the people treats...... GREAT MEMORIES: (and there are many) - My 1st time to meet her - Her rendition of Jingle Bells - All her tricks - she was so very smart - Having to get "special" trash cans to deter her from searching through the trash - Her "last" Turkey Trot walk where she had to be carried most of the way - she rolled over and just lay on her back with her feet in the air while thousands walked past.... - Watching her try on her sweater and hating it - Her snores - The kindest and smartest eyes ever - Watching her break up her sister's arguments - Watching her run and run and run, esp. the time we visited the trails in Austin and again - there are so very many.... It was time for her to go on to the other side - it had gotten to the point that she could no longer run or see, or hear very well. Her other mommy took her for one last trip to the park to see the ducks and just have some special scratch and pat time (and her last cheeseburger). Everyone was very kind to her and helped her to the other side in the gentlest way possible. She no longer will be constrained to this body that has let her down - and is now chasing squirrels again. She will be loved and missed - always. A friend sent me this link to such a wonderful poem and I just had to add it - I'm excited for the day that I'll get to see my Bandade again.... (please go have a look for yourself - what a wonderful tribute to all our animal family) http://www.indigo.org/rainbowbridge_ver2.html
