Duncan. Named for Duncan McLeod, The Highlander.

Duncan, you will be missed so much. You were such a big help with the cows when they got out. All I had to do was tell you and your sister, Puddin, to "get them in" and it was done. You loved herding the cows.
You loved swimming in the goldfish pond when I went to feed them. I am sure the goldfish miss having you swim right through them while they were eating. You did keep the Blue Heron who came for meals of goldfish, chased away. I am sure they will miss that!
You loved chasing dragonflies and they seemed to play your silly game by dipping infront of you as if to say, "catch us if you can!". Boy, how you tried too. You leaped higher than I have ever seen a dog leap, but they always managed to be just beyond reach. This was a game you never seemed to tire of, unlike playing fetch with a ball.
You always were on watch for snakes, killing every one you found. You liked to have scared the life out of me when you killed two coral snakes right at our back door. Then there was the time you kept me from getting bit by a cottonmouth when you grabbed it, getting bit yourself in the process, keeping it from striking me. The snake didn't live to tell about it though, you made sure of that. You were so sick from that, but it didn't stop you from getting the next one that came along.
Duncan, you were such a good boy! So loving, so kind. An amazing thing happened the day we laid you to rest. The dragonflies you loved so much to play with, came to pay tribute. There were hundreds of them circling as we laid you down. Bob and I were in awe as they dipped and circled as if each one were paying their respects, then they left.
Maybe where you are now, there will be dragonflies to chase until we are together again.
We love you Duncan!
