Hereford was so beautiful. He had these enormous paws that he would use to daintly sip milk from glasses. He used to lay on his back in the middle of the floor with his legs stretched up high. He looked like he had to ask a question. When Hereford was born my son Ian was six months old. Hereford thought Ian was his brother cat. As soon as Ian would lay down in his crib for a nap Hereford would rush in and lay at the end of the bed. He would purr and knead his giant paws till Ian fell asleep. The sound was so comforting that Ian would go right to sleep. As Ian got older Hereford was still right there at night to put Ian to bed. Hereford's fur was so soft and silky, that when he climbed in your lap, you could not help it, you just had to hug him. Hereford was a great big baby when he was home with us but when he was out neighbors beware. Hereford was king of his world, he keep the neighbor cats and squirrels in line. You could see him quite often just lounging in the middle of the alley next to our house. When ever a car would come down the alley Hereford would take his time to move out of the way. He loved everybody. You could always pick him up and give him a giant bear hug. Those were his favorite. 

He will be greatly missed and we wish that he wasn't taken from us so soon. Hereford was tragicly killed on a Delta airlines flight when we forced to check him in as cargo.
