On the 3rd of May 2006, I woke up and decided that I wanted a cat. I had always been a Siamese owner/lover and I set off to find my new buddy.

After searching for a few hours I found this tiny kitty in a pet store. He was a Siamese/Rex and I was immediately taken with him. When I realised that I didn't have my partner's permission I cried at the store until I decided to take him home anyway. My partner set eyes on the kitty and was in love within seconds.

By the end of the night the kitten had become Mr. Billy Corgan, because he had the same vocal abilities as Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins fame.

When Billy had been with us less than a week, he got sick. He had an infection and it was traumatic. I was really scared that I would loose him, but some how like a magical gift, Billy recovered.

I was lucky to have Billy in my life for another 14 months, and I am so grateful that I did. We did everything we could to save him, and he did everything he could to fight. But for no known reason a long life was never meant for Billy. He really did live a long life in a very short time.

Billy was beautiful, he was able to turn any dog person and he was able to truly sense my emotions. He took care of me when I really needed someone. Then in his last week of life I took care of him and let him leave in style, just as he had lived. Billy was very spoilt, he had thousands of dollars spent him. I regularly went to the local pet store and purchases toys, beds, blankets, expensive foods and many other things. Billy had the best in love and in things.

Billy was the first pet that I have owned who I had unlimited time to be with. During his life I worked from home and I spent almost all day with Billy. I didn’t like going out and tended to come home early because I missed my boy.

Billy was the best cat I have ever had. He was silly. He was refined. He was strong. He was adventurous. He was loving and he was (and still is) loved.

Every morning when I woke up I would find Billy cuddled up against my side. When I went out I would find Billy waiting for me on the stairs. He would roll around asking for tummy rubs. He would normally end up sliding down the stairs, but that never stopped him for asking for tummy rubs in bed, in the kitchen, when I was on the toilet, when I was unpacking the shopping and so on.

Otherwise he was cuddled up with one of his various animal mates. What can I say, he was a popular guy.

Billy was really still a kitten when he died but in his last few weeks he acquired the dignity of a cat beyond his years. But up until his last hours he found time to love, play and watch.

Billy loved toys that were on a string or a stick. In fact my partner thought that his leap was strong enough for him to be a footballer.

Billy also loved to come in to the bathroom when I showered, cream, ham, liver treats, under the chin rubs, any type of pats, dogs, cats, me, my partner, his cat pole, sitting on the window, watching the toilet flush, eating, his chairs, sleeping in my partners crouch, the stairs, downstairs, the laundry, the heater…. Well Billy loved life, as he should of, he was a king.

Billy was the best cat I have ever had. I love Billy and I always will.
