I got Jake after my Mother and her boyfriend were given a dog by an old couple. The old couple were moving up north because the husband needed heart surgery and just couldn't take the dog. He was a very loving pet and I loved him very much. I got him when I was about 5 and he was about 1 or 2 at the time. He was allergic to fleas all his life and suffered from them alot. Still, we kept him comfortable. But I think he was kinda miserable because I was busy sometimes and didn't have much time for him when I got to be about 10. He became sick just a few days ago (December 2nd, 2003 for people who are reading this when it gets old) and died on December 4th, 2003. My world was crushed. Even as I type this, it tears me up. Knowing I'll never see him when I get home or hear his bark. I'm just so sad. My world has been torn apart.
