Princess enjoyed being around her family. Especially bon-fire evening. She loved trying to get dropped marshmallows and hot dogs especially. Christa grew up with Princess and enjoyed being with her however, was frustrated that Princess didn't like to take a walk with her very far from home. Whenever Christa would get her on our street she would stop every minute to pee, making sure to mark her path to find her way back home. Princess had her favorite bean bag chair and spent a lot of hours on it.
Princess would go outside to walk with Christa and within five minutes pop right back to the door to go back inside before Christa could turn her back, "Where is she?" Standing beside the sliding door wagging her stubby tail...

When Cleo joined our family Princess thought she was being replaced. She soon learned that Cleo was just another member of the family and she was certainly not going anywhere. Cleo would tease Princess by jumping into her bean bag chair and falling asleep whenever Princess was off of it. Mom would tell Cleo to get out of Princess's chair when she witnessed this going on. Princess would lay on the floor beside the chair pouting and appeared
to be thinking like the three bears story "Who is sitting in my chair?" She would never do anything about it. Occasionally Cleo would get a spot beside Princess on the bean bag chair. We could never tell exactly what Princess was thinking about that. Cleo always looked mighty proud of herself.

Andrew liked Princess the best because she was always helpful at supper time by cleaning up dropped crumbs. Christa liked Princess best because she always knew when she was sad and would always try to comfort her.
Mom was surprise that even when Princess spent the week at Nana's she still wanted to come home. Nana spoils Princess rotten by giving her extra treats to go potty, a baby blanket, toys and loads of attention. Princess would try to sneak an extra treat by getting Grandpa to let her outside extra turns, and would always know when Grandpa was at the Refrigerator door. Even when Grandpa thought he was sneaking into it without her knowing. He would quietly open the refrigerator door and before he shut it Princess was right behind him. Mom was shocked after these visits at Nana's that Princess could not wait to go home as she ran to Nana's door pushing herself past everyone almost knocking anyone in her path to be first to the car. Nana would tell Princess not forget her last snack, a few licks of ice cream. Nana was sure she would not get car sick by giving her a scoop of ice cream before she left.

Andrew says even though Princess sometimes was a pain (because she puddled on the carpet a few times- which upsets Mom!!!!) we each had a very special place in our hearts for her.
When Dad was returning from a trip Princess would get so excited she would do back flips and chase after him. She would get so excited she would have to pee, you would see her running to the sliding door downstairs with her legs almost crossed so she could get out in time to pee. Princess liked to be beside Dad.
On long car rides with Princess Andrew's favorite saying was "Wow, Princess sure could use a Tic-Tak or breath mint!"

Mom enjoyed Princess when she would sit near the kitchen keeping her company as she did the dishes. She would wait until the last dish was washed hoping Mom would toss her a morsel or two.

Princess had congestive heart failure, and gastric intestinal bleed. She was twelve years old. She was very brave and did not complain during her illness. She is now buried in our yard under the lilac bush.
Our love will be with her always. XO The Haley's
