Blackie came into my life when i least expected it.A stray cat who appeared in my back garden.He was so scared when i appeared,and when he was hit by a car i thought there was no hope.I managed to get a trap from my local cats protection league and caught him and took him to the vets.A week later they called me and asked if i would release him back into my garden and feed him.I watched him hide in the bushes as i appeared with his food but eventually he came over and before long he was letting me brush him.A few weeks later i was watching tv when i heard my cat flap go and in walked Blackie and he was with me for 4 wonderful years.Stricken with ill health after all his years of neglect the vet informed me he was a diabetic so insulin injections twice a day was required,but he took to it like a duck to water.My darling Blackie had been fine on the Sunday,but when he was not there to greet me on Monday morning i knew something was wrong.I found my precious baby in the garden under his favourite tree,he had passed away in his sleep,he was 12 years old.It is only 2 weeks since he went away but it feels like a life time,i miss him so much but i know he is safe in cat heaven waiting for me to join him.

Personal Notes

Do not stand at my grave
and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the
morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines
at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there; I did not die.
