Kit-Kat was a people hater, except for my husband and I. He did not like anyone else. He used to attack the heating man and we had to catch him in mid air when he went after the cable guy. Despite this hatred for humans we loved him very much. He loved my dad's presents of canned sardines. He was a little more gentle with my dad, but he would still bite him. One time he had a bad time with fleas and even with shots medicines everything we could do he ripped open his neck. I brought him to the ER and warned them he hated people. He ripped half of the vets upper lip off so the ER Vet needed to go to the ER for people. Despite all the meaness towards others we kept him and as he aged a little he was a little more tolerant of visitors. When I became ill he was always checking on me and sometimes would lay with me when I was real bad.
One day we came home and were greated by a very malnourished white kitten. We didn't want to become attached to her but she chose us I guess. For 2 weeks she insisted on staying at our door meowing wanting to come in. I finally gave in after finding out my husband was feeding her when I wasn't noticing. As soon as I could she was off to the vet. She was starved looking had mites and fleas and worms of all sorts. After getting her the help she needed and getting her to look nice we had her spayed. I fell in love. She was this pure white cat, no other colors on her and she loved to eat. Unlike KIT-KAt she loved people and would greet everyone who visited. She also slept on me-well on my head. Everyday she was there.
I brought her to the vet again cause I thought she was kinda bug, but the Vet said shes fine just a big cat.
Well, one day the kids left the door open and they went outside. After that I had lots of trouble keeping them in but we managed. In summer we put air conditioning in one of the windows and put board up to keep things from getting in or out, but Kit-Kat Managed to rip the board apart and they both escaped. I waited and waited for them to come home but they didn't return. So I looked for my babies and I found Fruitytops in the back dead. Nothing on her showed she was poisoned or shot anything. My heart sank. She must have been poisoned. We never found Kit-Kat. Our friends father found him in his yard curled up dead. He buried him. We found out 2 neighbors way down the road were killing cats and kittens. They were caught when thier neighbor saw them putting her dead kitten in the garbage.
I couldn't cry for a long time. But inside I was destroyed.
