Maggie was unique and the smartest dog I have ever met. She was very protective, so many visitors thought she was mean. She would never have hurt anyone, though, unless they were hurting her family. She liked to take herself for walks, and always had to hold the leash in her mouth when someone else took her. I believe in my heart they she understood everything the people around her said. She loved to go out when Dad was snowblowing or mowing. The morning she died, she got to run around with the lawn mower and lay in the sun. She would do anything for a Beggin' Strip, or string cheese. She had no concern for other dogs; she was a person, after all. She would go upstairs with my Dad when he went to bed, but later in the night she would sneak downstairs to lay on the livingroom couch. She always rushed to get off of the couch when she heard someone coming; no one minded her laying there. She will be missed.

Personal Notes

Maggie sounds like such a cheeky lovable character. It has made me smile reading how she'd jump off the couch - dogs are so much cleverer than us humans! You are in my prayers tonight
