Behr loved two things, besides me, and those were: Tennis balls and watching T.V. There was a Tennis Court in a park in Oakland by where I used to live and I would take Behr there often. Around the tennis court were rows of bamboo bushes that lined the fenced-in area. Behr would always stick his head in a bush and pull out a new tennis ball. Every walk acquired 3 to 6 new tennis balls that he worshiped. His other passion was watching animals on T.V. He even knew the beginning of a TV commercial jingle when it came on and if there was a dog or cat in it. He would get soooo excited. Most of all, Behr will be remembered, by me and those who knew him, by his gently and loving nature. He always obeyed, never messed in the house, and stayed by my side his whole life. We went everywhere together...even on trips. He loved road trips very much and we took them often. I rescued Behr from the San Diego Central Animal Shelter when he was only 7 weeks old and the day I saw him, I learned the true meaning of "Love at First Sight." He got me through seven years of moving, college, different jobs, relationships that ended, and times when I was so broke that we could barely feed ourselves. He never complained...even at the end when I knew he was in tremendous pain. He was the ideal companion, friend, and son.
