Mechi was born along with a sister, Diamond. The first time I saw him he was sooo tiny but most of that was fur.He was born in the streets and grew to be a little feral. He had such long hair. He grew up so quickly, getting bigger and bigger each day. He was playful and sweet and never asked for anything else but his daily piece of chicken. He didnt like getting his hair brushed, so he had a lot of mattes so he ended up getting his hair cut many many times. The time came when we had to move and I couldnt take everyone with me. I was also taking care of so many strays that it was so stressful to find homes for all of them. Tree House took him in after I found him one day under a garbage can. He was bleeding from both ears and looked weak. After taking him in that same day I later found out that he was FIV+, had worms, dehydrated and worst of all tumors that were malignant. The tumors were removed and he healed nicely. He was put in the FIV room and was doing good. He got adopted by another volunteer there and I was happy. Unexpectally, he got brought back in for observation when they felt a lump under his ear. The cancer was back and it was too much to get out. It had spread too quickly and there was nothing to do but to ease his suffering later on. He was put down that same day and the day I found out was devastating. I had just lost Little and my other cat Sidora so I felt sad. I was happy he had a home for a while and had someone who loved him. If things had been different maybe he would be with me.
