Cujo was supposed to be the "family" pet but the moment I held him, there was an instant connection.  Our souls met and we began a life together.  I was 21 years old.  He was 6 weeks old.  Together we traveled the country, shared late night movies, went out, stayed in....it was a love affair between a girl and a dog.  He was my confidante, my companion, my best friend through all the "growing years".  When I met my husband, he accepted him.  He welcomed my daughter into this world with tolerance and gentleness.  He was always a "mama's boy" and he was my protector.  He was big and clumsy and gentle and warm.  He had big brown eyes that held all the love in the world.  He was my best friend.
