Pogo, you became the seasons of our lives. You entered it with graciousness of the spring. On December 25th 2006, you left with the finality of autumn. Like a perpetual summer, your innocence warmed both of our hearts. As silently as snow falling on a winter night, you quietly listened to our secret sorrows. You reminded us of all the good that is possible to find in this world – loyalty, selflessness, courage, devotion, and unconditional love. Memories of what you taught us will keep you in our hearts forever. We will miss you dearly both Mommy and big boy who loved you so much.
I miss the little wagging tail;
I miss the plaintive, pleading wail;
I miss the wistful, loving glance;
I miss the circling welcome-dance.
I miss the eyes that, watching, soothed;
I miss his tongue of gratitude
That licked my hand, in loving mood,
When we divided cup or food.
I miss the pertinacious scratch
(Continued till I raised the latch
Each morning), waiting at my door;
Alas, I ne'er shall hear it more.
Yet we will meet again at the Rainbow Bridge... you, mommy, and big boy.
