Ling was such a good little cat. She came to me as a stray about a year ago. This past spring I took her to be spayed when she became pregnant. I felt really bad, but I already had 20 strays I was taking care of, so her kittens were aborted. At the same time she came back home, another cat of mine who had already had 6 kittens, had to be taken away from them due to a medical condition and could no longer nurse them. I put Ling with the kittens and she immediately began taking care of them, allowing them to nurse her. From that point on, up until her death she took such good care of the kittens. She really loved them and they loved her. She was such a little care taker. You could not pet her without her little tongue trying to lick and clean you. She loved being outdoors, which is how she got killed. I put all of the outside cats in an enclosed pen inside our barn every evening. That one night I was unable to catch Ling. After a 1/2 hour of chasing after her around the yard I told her I gave up and said I hoped that she would be alright, and I went back to the house. During the night she got hit by a car and died. Had I known that morning when I let her out of the pen what was going to happen, I would have never let her out. If only I had gone back out that night and tried catching her she might still be here. All it took was that one time and now she is gone forever. I will always remember you Ling and I will always love you . You left us way too soon and you will be missed greatly by me and the kittens.
