The last time I saw Maggie,  well she was an old lady,  my lover and I were sitting in front of the fire in the hearth of his home and Maggie the grandma doggy came up and asked if she could have  a bite of my steak so I said sure... I chewed it up for her and fed it to her.   Well,  she wanted to whole steak and took to almost taking it off my plate... but she didn't and ate some asparagus and then sat down next to the fire place.   I remember her sleeping  so comfortably breathing so slowly and I remember what my lover said to me that in the 12 years that he had lived in the home he had not had a meal in front of the fire in the hearth...  Well I am glad for that evening as  I am sure Maggie was glad too...  I love her and I miss her.
