Goldy was such a beautiful dog. In fact she had the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. Rajat and I used to call her 'Button Eyes' cause she had big round and twinkly eyes.

i still remember so clearly the day 7 years back when Mom and myself went to some corner of Delhi to look for a lab pup. We had just lost our other lab female. We fell in love with her the moment we set eyes on her. She was so cute and plump and adorable. Greedily she drank up a whole bowl of milk and then we brought her home and she became part of our family. Bhavana, my sister cried the day she first saw Goldy. She was lilke a little angel.

Bhavana, mom and myself slept in the drawing room for the next few weeks and took turns to wake up at night when she got up. She loved the fridge in the dining room and although we put cushions and folded mattresses to make a partition so she would stay in the drawing room area, still at night she would climb up all the dividers and there we would find her cooling herself under the fridge.

She took on all the habits of our lab that died just before she came. Everytime we came home and opened the door, she'd be standing on the sofa eagerly waiting to be greeted. She was a doll !

She has been such a big part of our lives for the last 7 years. She was with us when we moved home… grumbled away at all the effort she had to make getting used to a new place. She was there when I got married. She was there thru all the good and the bad times. When we went on vacation, the thing we all looked forward to was coming home to Goldy. I miss her so much. I miss the way wee used to team up and bully Bhavana.

So to Goldy… wherever you are… I hope you always stay happy … like you were when you were with us. I hope we gave you as much joy as you gave us while you were with us. I wish that someday we’ll be together again. You really were the most beautiful brightest spirit I know.

Love you lots
Ritika
