I remember when I first saw you. Beautiful yellow bird. You caught my eye. I know and love a little boy who loves yellow. You were the happiest, sweetest, prettiest, and chirpiest yellow creation of God's hand. Oh how I love you. I remember the day you first perched on my finger. Your warm little feet felt so good on my finger and climbing up my arm. I remember the day I realized that you liked to bite little strings on T-shirts. I thought you were so funny. I remember the little kisses you would give me. My animal heart is so big and so full of you. I remember picking up the house with you on my shoulder. I remember the way you used to hide on the roof of your cage. I always could see you. I remember the way you would always chirp in the morning, and I remember the sweet little noises that you would make as you would drift off to sleep. When the sun would shine on you just right, your feathers would sparkle. Never have I seen such beautiful yellow. Such perfect gorgeous yellow. When I would put you back in your cage, I could somehow still feel you on my shoulder. You are flying in bird heaven today. No more pain. Your body is perfect and healthy. There are many yellow birds, but none quite like you. Kiwi and Skye miss you. They know something is different. If I stop and think, I can still feel you on my shoulder. May you always know how much we loved you.
