Kiri was a white Maltese Teacup Terrier, born on March 27, 1991.... the daughter of Sire "Clyde Coonie Cedar" and Dame "Cotton-Patch Brooke English" but to us she was simply "Kiri" ... we named her after the world famous Maori operatic singer, Kiri TeKenawa because she "sang" so much as a puppy. Kiri was a great housekeeper... our canine vacuum cleaner, she kept the kitchen floor spotless. She loved to ride with us on our motorcycle... and loved the wind in her hair. She was everyone's friend, giving unconditional love to all our friends and family. In her younger years, she was a great guard dog, barking whenever someone was at the door. But in her later years she went deaf. Even as she aged, she never lost her puppy demeanour. She could spend hours tossing her rawhide bone in the air. And how she loved to dominate her friend, Harley (our deaf Persian cat). Life won't be as cheerful without Kiri and we sure miss the greetings whenever we walk into the room. Kiri was always happy to see us, no matter how long she was left alone. George buried her in the garden next to his Mom's "memorial tree". She fit into a Nike shoebox (ironically she used to love to "dance" with our son's athletic shoes!)... and George put in her pink sweater, her medicine (which she always demanded as her morning treats!)... and, of course, a couple of rawhide bones to keep her happy. Lord only knows... Kiri would figure out a way to take those favourite things with her. Goodbye little friend. I sure hope you find a doggie heaven!
