Dischler, Benjamin John May 1995-October 16, 2006
OREGON-Benjamin John Dischler, almost 12, of Oregon, died Monday, October 16th at home following a brief illness.
"Bennie" was adopted by The Dischler following upon discovery at Fur, Fin & Feather in The Nakoma Plaza Shopping Center in Madison. Bennie attended The Cherokee Kennels Obedience School in Oregon at a young age. Although he was known as a somewhat mischievous dog, he held a special place in the instructors heart because of his ability to speedily pick-up owner commands such as heel and walk. Benjamin served as a guard dog for many years, reacting each and every time someone entered the home which he loved. Benjamin was a natural survivalist, keen on adjusting to the coldest weather by digging a hole to compensate for winter time and going under the family deck on summer's hottest days. He loved air-conditioning! Bennie was an avid collector of tennis balls. Gathering each ball and savoring the memorabilia in a special location in the Dischler's living room. Among his favorite past-times were grabbing a good nap each morning, afternoon, evening and night (upside down in his grandfathers recliner) and of course that special time of day when it was feeding time for him and or any member of the Dischler household, where he would let them know "hey, me too"! Benjamin loved to run through the living room with his sisters Kristina and Sadie. He also loved to watch afternoon soap operas and go for walks with his sisters Sadie, Kristina and Erin. Benjamin is survived by his parents Pat and Sheila Dischler of Oregon, Erin Dischler (Steve Hackbarth) of Watertown and Kristina (Steve) Stauffacher of Virginia Beach, Virgina, Sadie Dischler of Oregon and a special friends Jazz Tway of Oregon and the family dogs of Neil and Sue Detweiller of Oregon. Benjamin was preceded in death by sisters Samantha and Chocolate. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered with many fun filled stories by his loving family.
