Chloe was more to our family than a pet. She truly was a member of our family. She brought so much joy into our lives. She was a beautiful Calico who loved to snuggle on our laps, lay in sunspots and play with us. She left us far too early, but in the 4 years she spent with us, they were full of love and laughter. Whenever we would take a trip, she'd get into our luggage as if saying "take me with you!" When we'd arrive home, the kids would fight over who would get to see her first. She loved stroller rides around the house, playing with bird feathers, sunspots, running after beads, climbing up the Christmas tree and chasing butterflies. At night time prayers with Jessica, she always jumped up on the bed as if she wanted to pray with us. Sometimes she'd sneak into Jessica's closet and play with her Barbie dolls. Especially ones with fluffy dresses. On Saturday mornings Mike would always see her in a sunspot when he came down the stairs and say "look at Chloe, she's the best kitty in the world." She was indeed. One of her favorite pass times was sitting on Greg's loft bed and looking out the second story window. When she was a kitten she would play with Shane's bunny Hopper, and sometimes even sleep in the bunny's cage with him. She really won over Dad's heart, who was often seen napping with her on his lap. As for mom, well she kept her company every day while the kids were at school. And in the mornings while reading the Bible she was always there, sometimes right on the book, soliciting a rub behind the ears. Our morning routine of breakfast and making sack lunches always included a little turkey for her. She didn't always eat it, but she wanted you to put it out for. I know we can never forget her, but in time I pray the pain of her loss will turn into fond memories of our beautiful calico cat, Chloe.
Thank you Lord for giving her to us, even if it was for just a short time. Thank you Lord for the joy, laughter, and unconditional love she always showed us. Amen.
