Lucy was a kind dog
A very sweet pup to know
Fluffy as a lamb
With fur as white as snow

She never met a stranger
For all she welcomed in
And for some particular reason
She seemed to prefer men!

Her life was full of lots of cheer
She loved long walks with dad
Thru many sunrises and sunsets
So many good times were had

She followed her mom from room to room
Always keeping her in sight
A loving, loyal protector
Thru each day and night

Of getting her regular haircuts
She wasn't quite a fan
But even she had to love
Her spa treatment in a van!

She had the best playmates in the world
In her "sisters" Sandy and Alice
Sandy and Lucy on the same team
But of course there was no malice

There were only a very few things
that could make her lose her cool
Like a flock of wild geese
Or Alice swimming in the pool

She also had a lot of interest
In Luna and in Izzy
But it was only curiousity
That sent her into such a tizzy

And to those friends now
Without a doubt, she would surely say
Please don’t be too sad
Because we'll meet again someday

For just like the song that bears her name
You can bet your bottom dollar
That Lucy is now in the heavens above
With diamonds in her collar

Personal Notes

Lucy was well loved by her cousins Sandy and Alice. Adored by poodle pal Gaspar. Kissing post for all the little white dogs in the neighborhood. Cat cousins Izzy & Luna could count on Lucy keeping vigil outside their rooms, just in case, the kitty kats learned to open the door!

I loved to tease Lucy by walking back and forth on the other side of the closed bedroom door. She could see my little paws under the crack of the door. My 10 seconds of walking would keep her occupied with staring at the door for hours!!! It was my way of teasing her. I'll miss you Lucy, Love, Izzy the Cat

Lucy was a sweetheart that wouldn't hurt a fly (unless it was Izzy). She was Sandy's best friend and loved Alice, too. When she stayed over at our house she would only eat if we fed her Alice's food. She loved going on walks with Bill, Alice & Sandy on the beach and loved barking at anyone in the pool. I once saw her do the backstroke (really I did). She loved having the breeze go through her hair, and knew what a beautiful dog she was. We will miss her. Love, Jennifer & Bill

A truly gentle and loving pet, Lucy was one of a kind. Her quiet and intelligent manner led her to learn to ask for things (like needing to go out) by simply sitting and looking you right in the eyes. She would often seem shy, but would snuggle up in the evening, wanting us to rub her ears and her face.

Lucy, thanks for being my best friend. We had a lot of great times together hanging in the back yard, watching for squirells, barking at the mailman, going for walks and ganging up on Alice. And I'll never forget when our moms took us hiking in the mountains...our first and last hiking trip...what were they thinking! Love, Sandy

We will all miss Lucy. She was such a beautiful dog,(and she knew it too). I remember her running along the beach, watching the dog shows and her other favorite shows on TV, just enjoying her privileged life. Luuuucccccyyyyy!!!

Lucy was always ready for a party...she knew that anyone who came over to the Ambrose house came over to see her! So she made sure to be out front waiting to greet any visitors...sitting on lawn as if she was modeling for Southern Living. She was so beautiful lying out there that people thought she was a statue. Of course, when Auntie Netta came to visit, she was all too ready to run down the hall and jump on mommy and daddy's bed after her aunt. I miss you very much, Lucy Lu!

What a beautiful little girl and what a warm and happy tribute to her. It's obvious you both contributed so much to each other's happiness. Hugs of comfort from Kingsville, Maryland. Lucy waits for you at the Bridge.
