If you've ever known the joyful sound
Of barks that fill the air-
A sloppy kiss, a friendly paw,
A quiet adoring stare-
If you've ever had a special friend
To share a tear or two,
Or maybe just a wagging tail
To lift you when you're blue-
If you've ever felt the wrenching pain
That only death can send,
Then you have lost
Not just a dog-
You've truly lost a friend.
But God is good and treasures love
And there at Heaven's gate-
A sloppy kiss, a joyful bark-
Your precious friend awaits.

Sir Maximus Williams, an AKC Rottweiler, was born on November 2, 2002. I’ve had him since he was 6 weeks old, until the day the Lord took him back August 10, 2006. He had a heat stroke. He was a dog who showed unconditional love because that is how he was raised. Even to those who feared him because of what he was. He made sure we knew when the mail man was around. He loved long walks in the neighborhood, having picnics at the park, eating rawhides & liver treats, car rides, playing with children and other animals, very protective of his mommy & food, and he loved shopping at petsmart. He was my best friend, my son, and my protector. All who met and knew him loved him dearly. I am very sad to see him leave, but I know that we will meet again. May you rest in peace Maximus & always know that Mommy loves & misses you!!
