We adopted Zeus after a family tragedy. He was already an older cat, set in his ways, but he adapted to his new family life quickly - and trained us along the way. He became our early morning alarm clock with his wet nose upon your ear or forehead and his meowing, reminding you that food was to be set in his dish at 7am sharp. We called him "Zeus" because of his deep purr that shook his body. "His purr is like thunder" was a common comment around our house. We laughed fairly hard when we discovered with the first summer storm that Zeus was indeed, very afraid of thunder. Anyone that knew Zeus loved him. He would gladly welcome anyone into the home with a sniff then appropriate hair shedding session on their lap.
