Tommy first came home on May 3rd, 2024. He was here for our entire family, helping us grieve my grandmother's death 2 days later. Tommy was a pillar of light, melting even my mother's heart, who isn't the biggest fan of animals.

In late December of the same year, Tommy was diagnosed with IMHA. He was put on steroids to suppress his immune system.

Tommy was the light of every interaction I had. I loved taking him everywhere and he loved being dragged along. He loves even strangers like they were his best friends, allowing himself to be picked up by them. There was barely a time I didn't hear him purr. He brought an entire friend group together when I celebrated his first birthday party with my roommates.

Tommy fell I'll on February 27 when he started vomiting and having diarrhea, and stopped eating after a while. I took him to different vets and emergency rooms, with him being hospitalized in Southgate for a couple of days. No one could find the cause, and he continued to not eat.

On March 22, he went to his final Emergency room visit, the vet noting that he was so skinny and dehydrated, and after taking him to get his ultrasound done, discovered that he had an incredible amount of fluid in his intestines. Even if I was able to hospitalize him, his chance of survival was still unknown.

Tommy passed away on March 23, 2026, ~1:54PM EST at Mount Pleasant Animal Hospital. He was euthanized, surrounded by love.
