Wow....what can I say about this dog. There are so many good stories to tell, it is hard to get them all in this short space. Molly was the kind of dog anyone would dream of having. I remember the day we got her. I went to the farm with dad and Grant to pick her up. She was so excited to be going home with us and we were even more excited to have her. After our first dog Mickey turned out to be the devil, it was nice to have a loving dog like Molly. It came time to name her and we had many options. However, Molly seemed to the be the one we all agreed on. And of course, Dad had to add his humor so we officially named her Doggie Bowser, MD (standing for Molly Dog). Hey, it was the 90's!

Not too long after we got her, an unfortunate event occured. See, we kept Molly locked in the kitchen with a baby gate so she wouldn't get out and pee on everything. Jess, being the loving owner she was, leaned over the gate to give Mols a hug goodbye, and the darn gate fell, along with Jess, on top of poor Molly. She ended up breaking her hip but that didn't stop her from being the energetic puppy she was.

She travelled with us to grandma's house and loved running away from us. I can remember many times I chased her in the van. For some reason, she loved the car so never hesitated to jump in. And no matter how many times she ran away, she always came back. She knew where her home was.
As the years went on, her hip started to become more of a pain to her. She started to limp but that didn't stop her. She kept on going and didn't stop until the day she died.

Although she was a dog, Molly was one of my best friends. She was always there to listen to my problems or just to listen to me cry...and she never talked back!

When everyone left the house, whether it was going to school or dad moving for a job, I truly believe Molly became mom's soulmate. In some ways, I was comforted knowing that Molly was there with mom. She was a great protector to our family and never let a stranger through the door without making her presence known first. But once you were in, she was the sweetest dog imaginable. She loved to play with the other family dogs whether it was one of dad's many puppies he brought home or Grant's pug Bailey. The young dogs kept her young at heart and I believe they kept her around for more years than she thought possible.

She was an amazing dog who will be loved and remembered forever. We miss you Mols--enjoy doggie heaven!
