Cyrano Jones, a domestic long-haired beauty whose black coat was bleached brown from the sun, died quickly following a presumed snake bite April 27. Named after a character on an episode of Star Trek, in hindsight a better name would have been Cyrano De Bergerac. Cyro was a lover. His favorite pasttime was to spend hours in anyone's arms, with his long silky forelegs wrapped tightly around the host's neck. Cyro started life in a pound in Vermont. He was dropped off by a family due to "allergies." He was estimated to be 16 weeks old by the time we found each other there. Hesitant at first, once taken to his new home, his gratitude was evident from that day on. His continual offerings of nuzzles, demands for laptime, and sharing the pillow at bedtime was annoying at times, but he would not be swayed from his desire for my company. He will be terribly missed but fondly remembered.
