My hamster Buddy (or Buddy Pumpkin Head as I liked to call him)was such a wonderful little guy. He has gone on so many adventures such as the time he escaped his caged and got wedged between the bed and the wall. I thought my cat had eaten him! Or the time he stole too much food from the bag and got stuck in his tube! His eyes were bigger than his mouth pockets :) He was very gentle and kind and never minded being picked up and held. He loved going for a ride in his car and in his ball and loved exploring his maze. He also always expected his food to be hidden so he could go hunting for it. I always had to put extra wood chips in his bed because he loved a fluffy bed and recently he had come to love yougart hamster treats. There was never much sound out of Buddy except in the middle of the night when he'd be running in his wheel making it squeak throughout the house, or chewing on the bars of his cage - a noise that could wake everyone up! :) Although I never could sleep in the same room with Buddy, I will miss those night time sounds now and wish I could hear them again. Most people do not think much of hamsters or think of them as proper pets like a cat or a dog. Some even think it is foolish to get so sad over the loss of such an animal. But I say it does not matter what the size is of your pet, a loss is a loss. Buddy was very special to me and we had some great times together. He may have been small, but he left a big imprint in our hearts and we will never forget him. So Good-bye Buddy Pumpkin Head, you were a great friend and I loved every minute of taking care of you. I'm glad I had you, even if it was for the briefest of time. I hope wherever you are there are endless treats, many things to chew on, and a nice wheel for you to run in. Sleep tight Sugar Lump Mommy Loves you....always
