Casey was a yellow lab that I adopted from the SPCA last year.  I fell in love with him immediately and he came to live with me, my husband and three sons on March 02, 2005.  He had such soft fur and was a real luv-bug.  He slept with me every night.  Loved to play with this toys.  Loved to try to get into the tub with my sons (he sometimes succeeded!) when they were taking baths.  When I blow dryed my hair in the morning, he insisted that his fur be blow dryed too.  



He got out of the house yesterday afternoon and ran into the path of an oncoming car and was killed almost immediately.  I got to the sid of the road where he was laying just to seem him take his last breaths.  My heart feels like it has been torn in two.  He was the "baby" of the family and was just like one of my children, albeit, a hairy one.  We burried him in our backyard in a blanket that my oldest son used in Kindergarten so he wouldn't be cold because he loved to snuggle.  Though he was only with us a short time, his memory will live with us (me) forever.
