M.C. Hamster, Street name, Bear was my little "Hamster Burrito".  He was a loving little fellow that occasionally took a nip or two out of your finger or eyelid for that matter! He would take a paper towel in his mouth and roll himself up like a little burrito and take a little snooze. He didn’t live very long, but he was seriously cared for; his home was a 5 level penthouse and he received fresh veggies, fruit and an almond every day. When I woke up this morning he appeared to have passed away during the evening and looked as if he was having pleasant little “hammietime” dreams. RIP



SAD: What I learned after it was to late: There are various types of fluffy cotton bedding sold in pet shops for small animals and marked as "safe". Unfortunately there have been numerous cases where this type of bedding has caused death, to small animals. This bedding does not dissolve in the stomach and can cause stomach blockage. Any bedding used for hamsters should dissolve this will ensure that if eaten by the hamster the bedding material simply dissolves in the stomach. Any bedding material that does not meet these criteria should not be used.
