Dash was a precious gift to me. he was a 20-25+ year old quarter horse gelding. he was sweet and gentle when I would ride him. one of his funniest moments was when one afternoon I was looking outside through my kitchen window and I saw Dash looking towards our house because he was waiting to be fed!! It was like he was telling us he was ready to eat. when I recieved Dash as a gift about 3 years ago, mrs. pat, the lady I got him from, said she didn't know if he would live another year or five years, because we thought dash was in his 20's, but i took him anyway. If i didn't take him, Dash would have been destroyed. The day that Dash died was the hardest day of my life. He had laid down or fallen down and he couldn't get back up again. my dad thinks Dash had a stroke because Dash's front feet would work, but not his back feet. Our vet, dr. pallone, said that if Dash wasn't up by morning he would have to be euthanized. the next morning, Dash still wasn't up, so my dad called the vet to come put Dash to sleep. and when the vet arrived, me and my mom drove down to my sister's house where Dash was to see him before he was euthanized. my sister lives 500 to 600 yards from us, and by the time we arrived, the vet was driving down the road and Dash was gone. I didn't think the euthanasia shots work that fast, so Dash must have died before the vet got there. Dash is buried by a pine tree in our yard.
