Bootsie, our first night together was a glimpse of how we'd always be...a team. From the moment you were curled up there on my pillow, and we slept together. We shared many memories together. Do you remember the day at the park when we let you run free, and played fetch? Remember the day you escaped from the backyard before we were going to a concert, and we ran through the streets looking for you? Remember the day you ate the nail polish remover and we had to call the poison control center? After awhile, we had them on speed dial. But I also remember your agonizing cries during your seizures. Oh how it hurt me to see you that way. You took your medicine like a champ, because you knew mommy would never give you something that hurt you. I remember our last moments together, when you looked back and gave me a kiss on the cheek as you sunk to the floor. Oh how that moment made me cry months after. Thank you for being my best friend. You were and still are my soulmate. And I promise, no one will ever fill my heart the way you have. I will wait with happy anticipation until we reunite on the Bridge one day.
