Missy was adopted from a shelter, along with her brother, Miko.  They were only about 8 weeks old.  Missy was so shy, and stayed to herself until she adusted in her new home. She was the sweetest baby girl, and loved to be petted. Sadly, we  lost her brother to sudden death at home. Not knowing why this happened to us, we took Missy for a check-up to see if we could get any anwsers. We did, and the news wasn't what we wanted to hear.  She had HCM, which is Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. We had her on 4 different meds. and they seem to be keeping her heart going. But on Saturday, 10/11/03, I was coming inside from grocery shopping, when I entered, Missy was lying on the floor.  I ran over to her, knowing that this might be it.  I begged her not to go, told her I loved her, and held her as she took her last breath. I spent some time with her and just cried. I pray that someday they will find a cure, she was only 5 years old. Her brother was 4. I'll miss you Missy, and carry your love in my heart until I cross that bridge to see you again.  Love always & forever  Mommy
