Buddy was a 3 year old AKC German Wirehaired Pointer. Buddy came to us when he was 1. He was the most handsome dog and very kind hearted and gentle. Buddy loved to play fetch with a tennis ball and would play until you couldn't anymore. He loved to play in the snow. Buddy took to water like a rock at first. One of my favorite memories of Buddy is when His daddy and I were teaching him how to swim. We threw a dummy into the water for him to retrieve it...and he tried because he thought he could. He sank like a rock and we had to pull him up from under the water. Daddy worked with him and before I knew it he was swimming as far out as his brother. Buddy grew up his first year afraid of a lot of things, but he came around a lot. He loved other dogs and he was a big flirt when it came to women. He liked to rough house with his little brother, Bentley. He let him snuggle up to him when he was a puppy and he taught him how to retrieve. Buddy liked to drag Bentley around by the collar when they were playing. Buddy was a good boy. The best. When I cried he would put his paw in my hand like he was holding it. He liked to sleep in between his daddy and I, and sometimes right up on the pillow. Buddy was a very fast runner and could jump extremely high when he was playing fetch. He ran away once while he was at grandma's and they couldnt find him. He came back six hours later covered in cow poop and mud...he must have been wandering his old stomping ground up at the farms in Ettrick. Buddy died October 24, 2005 in Ettrick, WI and is buried at his grandma's overlooking the hills. We miss him and there will never be another dog like him. He was my best friend.
