I got Andie after coming home from a birthday party on August 30th, 2020. It was a total surprise from my parents. She's a Great Pyrenees. We have been to many football games and lake trips together since. I even shared rooms with her. However, we live in the country, and have a pond. So she wore a shock collar from pet safe, but after almost 3 years, she figured out how to run past it and get in our pond and neighbors' yards, even. So we could not take care of her. It was decided that she need to go to a new home. It was, and still is, hard on me, because she is my heart dog. She slept outside my door at night to protect me. It is currently June 5th, 2023, and I gave her away yesterday. Luckily, we know the person that owns her now. He lives very close to my grandparents and knows them too. My dad promised me we would start visiting her after a couple months. I know she loves me and I really hope she knows I love her. I hope she doesn't forget me, because that would break my heart even more. My parents think it's the best, and I know it is, but she wasn't their heart dog. Sure my dad took care of her the most, but her and I had a special bond.
