Casey was too special of a dog to say he was just the family pet. Casey was a member of the family. He was just as smart, if not smarter then a human. In fact there were times when we thought he WAS a human. One thing that I find to be so incredible was his way of communicating and the way he knew who his parents were and brother and sister. I will never forget one time he was at the groomers and the girl who worked there couldn't get him out of the cage, he would growl and back away and as soon as he heard my voice you could hear his tail hitting the sides of the cage from wagging it so fast! He knew who we were and how loved he was. I know he knew that because he loved us back just as much. He was just so smart. When he was hungry he kicked his food dish, and when thirsty he kicked his water dish. When you asked Casey to show you what he wanted he ran to his treat drawer or the front door. He always knew what you were saying to him and how to respond. No matter what kind of mood you were in, Casey could always make you smile. He never hurt anyone! He couldn't, Casey didn't have a mean bone in his body. He was a sweet sweet dog who loved anyone he met, and anyone who met him fell in love with him. He loved to cuddle next to you, and he always had to be leaning agaist you when he slept. Casey had such effect on people. He had these amazing brown eyes that just had so much expression in them, all he had to do was look up at you and you melted, and he knew it :) He had a pair of eyes you just can't forget. One great thing I would like to mention about Casey was that he was so jealous.hehehe. Whenever anyone hugged anyone else, or just touched them in the slightest way, Casey always barked thinking one was hurting the other. He was always looking to protect! Casey loved and was loved unconditionally for 13 wonderful years and there are no words to describe the way he will be missed.
Caseydoggie we love you now and always and we'll never ever forget you sweet boy. Now you no longer suffer, you can breathe comfortably and eat all the cheweez you want.

What a great dog Casey is! You lost your Casey 3 days after I lost my little Gizmo... doesn't seem that it has been very long, huh? What a wonderful tribute you wrote for your friend; I know you are missing im so much. He obviously felt very loved! I hope you feel his presence with you still and the joy he always gave will never leave your heart.
