To our dear and loyal loving boy Bill.
We love and miss you so much little man............
Bill came into my life when he was born on my birthday and later given to me as a birthday present as had grown to love him so much. He was just 5 weeks old when I bought him home where he promtly won over the whole household in five minutes flat.
He gave us 16 years of his time and we gave him as much love and care in that time that any dog could ask for.
We had lots of fun as Bill loved to play ball and loved to leap into our pool and chase anyone who might want to play with him. We have many happy memories of Bill playing , he was full of energy and just a little WIZ with his wonderful ball skills. As the grand children came along Bill taught them all to throw him a ball before they could even walk.I took Billy to dog obedience school and he made me very proud as he showed just what a smart little character he was. At age four he became a dad and we were blessed with his little daughter Sallie. The day we bought Sallie home from her mothers care, Billy took over as her mentor and protector. he was a wonderful dad, full of patience and full of energy to play games until they were both worn out. The years rolled along and dear Billy grew old. We loved him too much to let him suffer when he developed a major problem and Billy crossed the Rainbow Bridge when he was sixteen and a half years old.
He was put to sleep peacefully in his own little basket one sunny day. We spent the morning taking him for little walks in the sunshine and feeding him his favoutite foods. We took lots of photo's of him that day as we knew that it was to be his last day spent with us. When the vet came we held him and loved him to sleep telling him to go to the beautiful Rainbow bridge and to keep watch for us as we would be there to meet him some day. It was the worst day and more tears were shed than I ever imagined could be, we must have been near to dehydration that night. Hid human dad dug a grave for him in the front lawn of our home. We lauid him to rest with his beloved tennis ball and a metal contaner with a letter in it was placed beside him telling him how we loved him and would miss him. We placed some flowers on him and then his grave was closed. There is a pretty little rock garden to mark his grave now and I still talk to him whenever I pass it. God bless you little mate, we love you and will NEVER forget you. We all miss you so much and your memory will stay with us forever mate.
You were a very valued member of our family and please Bill be happy and have fun in that beautiful garden beyond the Rainbow Bridge. We will look after your little daughter for you and some day she will be walking accross that same Rainbow Bridge. Please run to meet her mate as she loved her dad very much and she misses you too.

Personal Notes

What a wonderful, wonderful tribute to such a special family member. I know you must miss him terribly and gave him a completely happy life. I bet he is happily chasing butterflies at the Bridge and waits for you...
