This is written in commemoration of the loss a GREAT companion, Bobby Junior (1995-2005). Bobby Junior, beloved black dog of the CHAN family, died tragically on 21st August 2005. At more than 10 (almost 75 in human years), he was not in the prime of his life, with many bones left to bury, many flower pots left to stain.
Bobby Junior was only a dog and unpedigreed at that, but he was unquestionably the most popular dog in Jalan Lumpur. He was always addressed as "The blacky dog in 516C."
He was struck by natural illness and was rushed to the vet but failed, leading us to question whether if Bobby Junior was a human? Could the doctors have saved him?
Bobby Junior was adopted by the CHANs as a puppy in 1995 and quickly asserted himself as the family's favourite top dog. He spent more time with the CHAN seniors than any of their children. He accompanied them from day to night, 24-7.
When any intruder walked pass the house, Bobby Junior had become "the real General in the army", he would be barking louder than ever. Bobby Junior cared deeply about the family. Whenever he saw any of the CHANs, he would happily jump around any of them.
Aside from chasing cars, the boys from the neighborhoods, his favorite hobbies included peeing at the car tire or flower pot, eating anything that looked like food, and barking at any stranger.
Despite his friendly nature, Bobby Junior did not get along with the boys from the neighborhoods.
He is survived by his master, the CHAN family as well as many friends and relatives.
On the night of his death, Bobby Junior was laid to rest with full honours, his funeral was not attended by dignitaries from around the world, both human and canine. "The death of Bobby Junior proves what I have been saying for a long time: Pets are part of the family. It s as painful as to let them go as well." Bobby was a loving dog and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
