I met Stacie late one night while visiting family friends. They walked me over to where she and her 2 brothers were kept and asked me which one I wanted. Stacie was known to beat up her brothers but she was different from them. She was gold & white rather than the singular white color that Alaskan Huskies were known for. Our eyes met and at that moment I knew that she was the one I wanted. 



My brother had gone down to Cleburne prior to taking me and still decided that he wanted his little sister to have a pet. So, we took Stacie out of the fenced area she was in and she hung out with us for the rest of the night. Our friends gave her the name Stacie because I had no idea what I wanted to name her (later I added Nichole). They fed her so much that on the way home, she threw up in my brother’s car. 



For the next 18.5 years, Stacie became family. She enjoyed laying in front of my bedroom door, breaking into the trash when no one was looking, and being spoiled with pets until she was done. Stacie was compassionate, kind, and tough. 



She knew when I needed her. At times, Stacie would know I would cry before I did and would cuddle up next to me until I fell asleep. 



She protected her Gran Gran (her grandmother’s chosen nickname) when her Gran Gran fell and a coyote was trying to close in. Stacie asserted her dominance until the coyote left then she stayed standing in her position to help her Gran Gran get up. 



She will be missed greatly and we thank Stacie for coming into our lives to teach us how to love unconditionally. Katy would like to also extend a thank you to her brother Q and their family friends for providing her with a soul that would go on to be an integral part of her support system and family. 



After facing a long, tough battle with her hips no longer working, she was released from her suffering at Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital. As she crosses the rainbow bridge, Stacie leaves behind her mom Katy, her Gran Gran Dyane, her grandfather Howard, and her uncle Q. Please feel free to share your thoughts and memories with us!
