It was a cold and rainy day in 1991. I had just broken up with a girlfriend and was very depressed. There was a convenience store down the street & I was going to buy up all their booze and cigarettes and turn myself into a toxic waste dump. I opened my front door & there sat a little puppy, shivering and wet, wagging her tail & looking at me with big brown eyes as if to say "I've been waiting for you to open this door forever!" She was lost or had been dumped. So we saved each other. Peanut was my sweet friend and companion for 14 years. She was there for me no matter whether times were good or bad. She loved to chase a tennis ball & was the kind of dog that people always adored when they saw her. Little, scruffy & mixed colors that made her a so cute. Just a little mutt with a great big heart & endless patience for every stupid thing I did or said. Peanut had so much courage too. She would challenge any larger dog & protected us. When my wife Petra came into our lives, she gave Peanut all her love and lots of attention. Peanut adored Petra and hung around her all the time. Petra's grown son Daniel fell in love with Peanut too & so did his girlfriend Julia. Peanut, we will never forget you and will miss you always. Thank you for giving us your life and all the joy and warmth of your little heart. Good bye my love. Your biggest fan, Ed
