We brought Marvin and his brother Motown home from the animal shelter when they were merely 2 months old. I was 7, and just getting over the death of my first cat, Cosmo. I remember the day we took Marvin home, he was extremely afraid of the television. He would just sit there and stare at it for what seemed like forever. My brother and I are "parents" to all our cats, but Marvin was especially attached to me. Until recently, he would scratch on my bedroom door at all hours of the night, wanting to come sleep on my bed. And being the lazy teenager that I am, I ignored it, waited for the scratching to cease, and went back to sleep. When my mom told me that Marvin had not come home for hours, I immediately was frightened. He had a heart problem, and could barely breathe. Later, my dad found him in a neighbor's yard- it seemed like he had been there for a while. I will always remember Marvin for his sweet, gentleness, and cat like annoying-ness. Though he could get extremely irritating at times, Marvin was really one of the sweetest animals you could ever meet. We miss you! ~5/1/95-5/11/05
