Bonnie was my baby, and the only Dog I have ever had. I did not know that you could love an animal as much as I loved Bonnie. Bonnie had a large circle of friends, both Human and Canine (and she picked her own friends). If Bonnie didn't like the look of a person or other dog she would adamantly refuse to have anything to do with them. She could be a right little Madam when the mood took her. But she was Beautiful. She had such a gentle nature and temperament. She didn't have a mean bone in her body at all. Bonnie was lively and fun loving and even had a brilliant sense of humour. She knew just how to tease you and how to make you laugh. She talked with her eyes. If Bonnie had to be told off (which wasn't very often) she always muttered under her breath and always had to have the last word. Bonnie loved children and in her final minutes made friends with my 17 month God daughter (who she had been wary of for the past month because she had started toddling). She let Saoirse pet and fuss her. When the Vet arrived to put Bonnie asleep Saoirse bent down in front of Bonnie and waved her tiny hand, said "Bye Bye Bonnie" and blew her a kiss. Bonnie licked Saoise's hand and nudged her arm with her nose. I knew one day that Bonnie and Saoirse would be best friends and in Bonnie's final moments they were. I miss Bonnie so much she has left a huge gap in our lives but will never be forgotten.
